Syngas Production

There are several common processes that are used to produce synthesis gas (syngas) on an industrial scale. They are 1) Partial Oxidation, 2) Autothermal Reforming, and 3) Steam Methane Reforming.

Syngas Conditioning & Purification

The H2/CO  is typically adjusted to meet the downstream process requirements. There are a number of processes to condition and purify the syngas.

Syngas Applications

Syngas can be used to produce a number of products, including hydrogen,  fuels, chemicals, fertilizers, power, synthetic natural gas, and methanol.

Previous Next

The Global Syngas Technologies Council (GSTC) promotes the uses of syngas in the economy.
GSTC encourages the use of economically competitive and environmentally conscious technologies to produce fuels, chemicals, fertilizers, substitute natural gas, hydrogen and electricity from a variety of feedstocks. GSTC facilitates relationships among technology, equipment and service providers, and plant owners and operators.

What is Syngas?
Syngas is an abbreviated term for synthesis gas, which is a gaseous mixture of hydrogen, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, and other trace components. The term synthesis gas originally comes from the intermediate mixture for generating synthetic natural gas. Syngas is also used as an intermediate for the production of ammonia, methanol, synthetic petroleum products, and other chemicals.
